Mary Osborne, author of Nonna’s Book of Mysteries andAlchemy’s Daughter, is a writer, artist, and registered nurse living in Chicago. An honors graduate of Rush University and Knox College, where she was mentored in the Creative Writing Program, Osborne has degrees in chemistry and nursing.
Nonna’s Book of Mysteries was conceived during a springtime trip to Tuscany. Set during the days of Cosimo de’ Medici the Elder’s lordship, the story sprang from the cobbled streets of Florence and into the author’s ear. Carrying her notes from Italy, Osborne attended the International Women’s Writing Guild’s Summer Conference at Skidmore College in New York.  Here, her historical novel began to take shape.  Nonna’s Book of Mysteries and Alchemy’s Daughter are part of a four book series.
Osborne currently hosts alchemy parties for teen girls, where participants are encouraged to reflect on their intentions and bring their dreams into the physical world through the process of making alchemy jars. With pictures, words, and symbols, teens focus on their ambitions and reach for the stars.  Learn more at www.MysticFiction.com.
